Testing and Certification
The International Fish Oil Standards (IFOS) 5-star rating guarantees that each Norwegian Gold Ultimate Fish Oil formula meets or exceeds all national and international standards for purity, potency and freshness. The IFOS standards are based on the CRN (Council for Responsible Nutrition) voluntary Omega-3 monograph. However, ReNew Life is even more stringent with our purity standards; our Norwegian Gold oil formulas also far exceed the Norwegian Medicinal Standard (NMS), as well as the European Pharmacopoeia Standard (EPS).
IFOS is an international program developed to provide a “worldwide benchmark of compliance” with regard to the manufacture of quality, contaminant-free fish oil supplements. Its extensive research panel clinically validates the accuracy of individual manufacturers’ analyses to guarantee that you and your family are receiving the highest-quality fish oil supplements available.
The IFOS Approvals Program is the world leader in Omega-3 fish oil standards testing. It assesses each supplement for key ingredients, oxidation levels, and contamination from chemical compounds including PCBs, dioxins and furans, as well as heavy metals such as mercury. The IFOS standards for testing are the most stringent in the world, typically surpassing the NMS and the EPS.
