Most of the world's Omega-3 fish oil is derived from anchovies and sardines, principally Engraulis ringens (the anchoveta) caught off the coast of, and during migration to, Peru and Chile. Fish from the Norwegian Sea are also used, though typically northern deep seas produce fish lower in Omega-3.

ReNew Life uses six different Omega-3 oil blends in our Norwegian Gold line. They are sourced from the body oils of smaller, wild and unthreatened species of fish found in the Norwegian Sea and some of the earth's coldest most pristine waters. Because such smaller species fish spend less overall time in the food chain, their body oils are naturally lower in environmental toxins such as mercury, PCBs and pesticides.
